Guess What Came in the Mail?

February 3, 2009

It’s here!  It’s here!  My first issue of Figure Magazine came in the mail this week.  I’ve looked it over, and I’m happy to report that it looks like a great investment.  It caters to curvy, fuller figured women and the issues that we deal with when it comes to fashion, beauty, sex, health, nutrition, and success.  A couple of my favorite articles from this issue include “Budget-Savvy Looks for the New Year” and “Love, Men, and Sex in the City”.  I also enjoyed the interview with Melissa McCarthy who plays Christina Applegate’s BFF on Samantha Who?

All of us need to have support and inspiration.  This magazine accepts you for who you are and shares articles and information that meets you there.  I’m looking forward to my second issue.  I’ll be back to share with you again.  If you’re looking for a magazine written for you, try Figure Magazine.  I’m sure you’ll find something inside that applies to you and your curvy life!  Love who you are!  Live happy!  And Smile!!

Update:  I’m sad to announce that as of the March/April issue, Figure Magazine will no longer be published.  In a posted letter to readers, they cite economic issues for the inability to continue and plan to contact their subscribers as the final issue date approaches.  I’m certainly upset by this recent announcement because I just received the first of a year’s worth of issues.  Now, I’ll need to be on the hunt for a new magazine.  I will not be discouraged.  I will let you know when I find something new!

Oh, I loved Melissa McCarthy on Gilmore Girls.

I love the magazine, it’s too bad they have decided to quit publishing it in just a few months!

I read that–what a disappointment. I’ve updated the article and included a link to the letter written to Figure readers. I’ll be interested to hear what they actually do for people who’ve purchased subscriptions, like me!
