Curvy Clothes on Mini Models

July 10, 2009

Okay, no merchant to promote or sale to share, just a bone to pick, if I may.  I have been reviewing merchants, products, and prices for Cherry Heels readers for almost a year.  That’s really exciting now that I think of it!  Today, I was reviewing a merchant, who will go unnamed, and I just have to say I have had all I can take of the mini models in curvy clothes!  This particular merchant was for underwear, lingerie, shapewear, and swimwear for both sexes and every size including kids.  When reviewing such a broad site, I like to make sure that the plus sized offering is complete enough to be worthy of a mention here.

So, I go to what this particular merchant calls the “fuller figure” section.  What do I find?  Well, it wasn’t a bunch of full figured women that’s for sure.  There certainly were a number of very cute items to choose from; however, I like to know that the clothing being sold actually looks good on and is cut to fit those who need larger sizes.  It’s a real turn off for me to go through pages and pages of “fuller figured” clothing only to see all of it modeled on women half my size.  Not only is it sad to me that larger models are not being featured, it is also difficult to feel comfortable buying something online that I haven’t even seen appropriately modeled.

Is it just me?  What do you think?  When shopping for plus sized clothes, do you want to see plus sized models or does it matter?  Are there merchants that you like or not for this reason.  Give me your feedback.  I’d love to hear your point of view.
